Event Details

1. All entries must be made on an official Registration Form and accompanied by the £25.00 entry fee (£19.00 if booked in 2009).  Cheques should be made payable to Shepherds Walks.  Photocopied forms are acceptable.

2. The event is open to both runners and walkers.

3. The challenge is 26 miles and is to be completed in 10 hours or under.

4. Persons under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  The minimum age for participants is 16.

5. Medical advice must be sought from your GP if you are not used to this level of physical endurance.

6. If you have any medical conditions please ensure that it is highlighted on the Registration Form and that you bring any appropriate medication with you.

7. Dogs are permitted but must be kept under tight control and consideration given to other event participants.  Dog fouling must be cleared by dog owner and appropriately disposed of.

8. Comfortable strong walking boots/shoes are strongly recommended together with appropriate clothing to suit the conditions.  A day pack containing additional clothing, waterproofs, sun-cream, insect repellent, hat, is also advisable.

9. Refreshment points will be located at intervals around the course, however, it is recommended that you bring with you additional food/water supplies.

10. First Aid assistance will be available at the refreshment points.  However, if you require assistance between these locations, please seek advice from support officials.

11. Please dispose of litter at the refreshments points where refuse sacks will be available.

12. A goody-bag containing a unique T-shirt, will be available upon completion of the challenge.

13. Event organisers/officials will recommend the withdrawal of anyone who they deem to be unfit to continue or who are unlikely to complete the challenge in the given time.  Persons ignoring such recommendation will cease to be the responsibility of the organisers.

14. Images of the event may be used in promotional material both online and in print.  If you have any concerns about this, please let us know at least 24 hours before commencement of the event.  We will respect your privacy and handle the situation in a tactful manner.

15. The entry fee is non-refundable.
